What Is It?
Email stationery is actually a small HTML template file, around 2KB in size. This HTML template has references to various graphic elements that are stored on your Internet server. These graphics, typically a header, and footer, are downloaded and displayed when a message is composed or read.
How Does It Work?
Microsoft's two email client programs, Outlook and Outlook Express, directly support the use of email stationery -- With Outlook or Outlook Express configured to use email stationery when you send a message, the actual use is equivalent to placing letterhead in a printer and beginning to print. Quite simply, a blank piece of stationery appears when you go to compose a new message, all you need to do is to place your cursor in the "message area" and begin to type.
